NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department announced Friday afternoon that Cold Case detectives are investigating after skeletal remains were discovered behind a strip mall.

MNPD reports that skeletal remains were found Friday in a wooded area behind a strip mall at 818 Murfreesboro Pike.

A community policing officer discovered the remains in a large plastic bag after following up on a tip.

MNPD said the medical examiner’s office is conducting an analysis on the remains.
