Authorities have identified the bicyclist killed in a crash with a paving dump truck .

The fatal crash took place at a crossing along the High Trestle Trail outside of Crocker on Thursday, Oct. 9, according to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

The 44-year-old bicyclist, Courtney R. Petersen of Ankeny, was riding in a recumbent style bike when the crash happened.

The 53-year-old driver from Des Moines stayed on scene and was cooperating with police, the news release said.

The investigation is still ongoing.
