PORT CLINTON — Former Port Clinton Fire Chief Kent Johnson’s motion for early judicial release after serving half of a 180-day sentence for assaulting a female EMT has irked the victim, whose lawyer said had gotten no notice about the request.
Lawyer Subodh Chandra alleged in a Tuesday blog posting to his Cleveland law firm’s website that Henry County Prosecutor Gwen Howe-Gebers, who served as a special prosecutor in the Ottawa County Common Pleas Court case, had violated Marsy’s Law by communicating to visiting Judge Robert Christiansen that she did not object to Johnson’s early release.
