INDIANAPOLIS — If you want to retire comfortably, saving money needs to be part of your routine — but that’s easier said than done.

With high prices and everyday expenses eating away at budgets, many Americans are finding it hard to keep up.

A recent Bankrate survey found that 58% of workers say they’re behind on their retirement savings, and 37% say they’re significantly behind.

Mark Hamrick, a senior economic analyst at Bankrate, said all age groups feel some sense of urgency with respect to wanting or needing do better with their retirement savings.

"There's work to do here for all ages," Hamrick said.
