PENDLETON, Ind. — A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 17-year-old girl.

Oscalynn Vontress was last seen Thursday, Oct. 9 around 8 p.m. in Pendleton. She is described as 5-feet, 1 inch tall, 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black sweatpants and green socks.

Police say Vontress is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance. Anyone with information on Vontress is asked to contact the Ingalls Police Department at 765-642-0221 or dial 911.

There are specific standards a person's disappearance must meet in order for police to declare an Amber Alert or a Silver Alert .
