SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane residents are asked to support the troops with the annual KREM Cares Treats 2 Troops campaign, which runs through October 31. The month-long effort aims to send care packages to every deployed airman from Fairchild Air Force Base during the holiday season.
“Treats 2 Troops is more than just a care package to our troops, it’s a slice of home,” said Bella Meyer, president of Fairchild Spouses United, the volunteer group providing logistical support for the campaign. “It reminds them of some comforts and that they have countless people thinking of them while they are deployed.”
The campaign relies on donations from the Inland Northwest community, which can be dropped off at Spokane-area Rosauers, Super 1 on Spokane’s South Hill (830 E. 29th Ave.), and Huckleberry’s
