Fort Campbell Army Base in Clarksville evacuated soldiers and family members in the Woodlands area early Oct. 10 due to an alleged bomb threat, officials confirmed.

The threat came from a vehicle that was left at the base's Gate 10, but the vehicle was later cleared and no explosives were found, the Army said in a release.

The evacuation came as "an act of precaution," officials said.

Posts from families on social media varied on the evacuation timing, with some saying they were notified around 5 a.m. and others around 9 a.m.

The driver of the car at Gate 10 has not been named but was detained and taken for evaluation at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.
