A small plane flipped on its roof at the Deer Valley Airport, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Crews were dispatched at about 12:45 p.m. Oct. 10, after receiving reports of a plane crash at the airport, according to Capt. DJ Lee.
Crews arrived and found a small plane flipped over on the runway. The pilot was able to get himself out and was evaluated by crews on the scene, but refused transportation to the hospital, Lee said.
There was no one else on the plane, Lee said.
The cause of the crash was unknown as of 1:30 p.m. Oct. 10, and the scene was turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration, Lee said.
