MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis man is facing multiple charges after leading Tennessee Highway Patrol on a high-speed chase that began with a tint violation Thursday.

According to arrest records, a trooper attempted to pull over a silver Mercedes with an illegal tinted license plate at Democrat and Tchulahoma Roads.

THP says the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit.

THP said the suspect ran red lights and reached speeds over 100 miles per hour during the chase.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle stopped on Amanda Oak Circle, where the driver attempted to run away before being arrested.

Officers arrested 26-year-old Jevontae Griffin at the scene. After searching the car, officers say they found a stolen firearm and marijuana.
