NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans voters could decide the city's next mayor this Saturday, but only if any candidate wins a majority of the vote. If no one clears the 50% threshold, the race will head to a runoff next month.
Polling shows Councilmember Helena Moreno with a strong lead heading into Election Day. But political analysts caution the only poll that matters at this point is the turnout.
"The polls suggest strongly that Moreno could win it outright tomorrow, but it really depends on people getting out and voting," said WWL political analyst Clancy DuBos. "All the polls at this point mean nothing."
