BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - One in six children struggles with their mental health, according to the CDC. See how EBR Schools is working to support these students during their school day.

Southeast Middle School Principal Regina Bennett knows how hard life can be for some of her students.

“We have students from all makes, backgrounds, and a lot of our students are homeless; they have a lot of things going on at home that a lot of people just don’t understand,” explained Bennett.

That’s why she’s glad they see mental health professionals like Becky Prestidge throughout the day. She helps support students going through a hard time. On Friday, she’s giving them extra resources for World Mental Health Day to let them know help is available.
