KANE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) -- The National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northwestern Kane County in southern Utah.

Just after 4:40 p.m., the NWS located a severe thunderstorm 13 miles southeast of Cedar Breaks National Monument, or 20 miles northeast of Zion National Park, moving east at 20 mph. This warning is in effect through 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The warning said to expect half dollar-sized hail. Damage to vehicles is expected.

Locations to be primarily impacted include Alton and Long Valley Junction, including US Route 89 between mile markers 100 and 107.
