Champlain Valley cruised to a three-peat in Division I while Paine Mountain ended Rice's bid for a fourth straight D-II crown on the 18th hole during the Vermont high school girls golf state championships at Lake Morey Country Club on Friday, Oct. 10.

Raylee Makay, the D-I medalist, fired a 14-over 84, a round that included four birdies and a pair of pars to lead the Redhawks to three team titles in a row. Makay and teammate Stella Rakochy (92) finished with a two-person score of 176 to finish ahead of second-place Mount Anthony (197) by a comfortable margin.
