SUPERSTITION WILDERNESS, AZ (AZFamily) — A four-legged furry friend on a camping adventure in the Superstition Mountains needed rescuing after falling and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was there to answer the call.

In a social media post on Friday, MCSO said it got an early morning call near Battship Mountain in the wilderness about a dog that couldn’t walk because of a fall.

Crews found a group of at least three men deep with the dog in the canyon and lowered down rescuers with some supplies from the MCSO helicopter.

Video from MCSO showed the dog being strapped into a special harness before being hoisted out of the canyon.

The pup was later reunited with his owner and taken to an emergency veterinarian, where he got help for his injuries, MCSO said.
