A Texas woman faces charges of vehicular assault and driving under the influence after a police officer was injured in a June crash in Longmont.
At about 9:26 p.m. June 13, a vehicle turning left from Second Avenue onto northbound Main Street and a vehicle driven by a Longmont officer collided, according to an affidavit. The driver of the turning vehicle told police she thought she had a green arrow to make the left turn, but there were no such turn signals, the affidavit said. The woman failed a sobriety test and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and failing to yield right-of-way.
The vehicular assault charge was added months later, after a doctor determined the Longmont officer had sustained a concussion that prevented her from returning to work. As of Sept. 26,
