PLAINS — Firefighters are actively working to suppress a wildfire burning west of Plains, near Weeksville.

The fire has burned approximately 75 acres, according to initial estimates.

A total of 25 firefighters are on scene, supported by engines, water tenders, a dozer and two helicopters. The suppression effort is being led by crews from the Lolo National Forest and the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.

The fire's cause has not been determined.
