A veteran St. Joseph girls tennis team put its depth on display in an 8-1 Mountain League win against Santa Ynez on the St. Joseph courts Thursday.

All eight players in the lineup contributed at least one point as the Knights ran their season record to 14-4, 5-2. The Pirates dropped to 8-12, 3-4.

The St. Joseph players wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

With an experienced lineup, "We were confident that we'd have a strong year," Kona Castillo said after she teamed with Charlotte Dillon for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles then won her No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-0.

That confidence has been well-founded. The Knights have long since clinched a berth in the CIF Central Section Playoffs and have a chance to finish in second place by themselves behind San Luis Obispo in the Mo
