DALLAS — OU football quarterback John Mateer is trending toward playing in the Red River Rivalry.

Mateer was listed as probable to play vs. Texas on the second SEC availability report released Thursday night.

Mateer, who was questionable on Wednesday and probable on Thursday, is recovering from surgery on a broken bone in his right (throwing) hand that took place over two weeks ago. If Mateer plays against the Longhorns , it'd be 17 days post-surgery.
