COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTV) - South Carolina Congressman Ralph Norman earlier this week sent a letter to the Chief of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. Norman alleges that the agency failed leading up to the murder of a local college student .

In May 2025, 22-year-old Logan Federico , from Waxhaw, North Carolina, was killed in a random home invasion while visiting friends in Columbia, South Carolina.

Police said that Alexander Dickey, who is accused of killing Federico, was a repeat offender and broke into the home while Federico was sleeping.

Officials said that Dickey stole her money before shooting and killing her.

Congressman Norman sent a letter to South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Chief Mark Keel, pointing to Dickey’s lengthy criminal record and accusing the agency
