If you're hoping to get away from the colder temperatures in the UK this winter, you could end up paying a fine of £160 if you do it at the wrong time. In the UK, it is generally not allowed to take a child on holiday during term time and can result in a fine.

It comes after the Department for Education confirmed last year that schools across the UK are required to consider a fine if a child has missed 10 or more sessions for unauthorised reasons. Keep in mind that 10 sessions are equivalent to five days of school because the school day is split into two sessions between morning and afternoon.
