Deeply shaken by the tragic death of ten-year-old Abhirup Nath, local MLA Sailendra Chandra Nath has demanded the strictest possible legal action against the accused and urged a sustained crackdown on drunk-driving and drug-related crime in North Tripura.

Sailendra Chandra Nath visited the bereaved family and expressed his condolences, assuring them that he will stand by them “until justice is delivered.” According to the MLA’s written demand to the Superintendent of Police, North Tripura, the accused — identified publicly as Souvik Nath — should be charged under sections 105 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
