WOODHAVEN – The battle of unbeatens for the Downriver League lead came down to the final minute.

Gibraltar Carlson wiped out a 23-21 deficit on a 7-yard touchdown run by Izaiah Wright with 59 seconds remaining to pull out a 27-23 victory on Friday, Oct. 10.

“What a huge emotional win tonight,” Carlson coach Jason Gendron said. “I couldn’t be more proud of our coaches and players for fighting to the final whistle. Both teams played their hearts out. It was everything you could ask for with two undefeated teams battling for first place in the league.”

Wright scored three touchdowns on runs of 70, 7 and 7 yards and finished with 223 rushing yards.
