SOMERSET, Ky. (WYMT) - South Laurel had their eyes set on keeping their undefeated season going but the Maroons had other ideas, routing the Cardinals, 42-7 on Friday.
After both teams exchanged punts on their opening drives to start the game, the Maroons marched the ball down the field. The drive ended with Kasen Brock fumbling but offensive lineman Levi Beshears recovered it in the endzone for the touchdown. That put Pulaski County up, 7-0.
After South Laurel was stifled on the ensuing possession, Travis Burns’ crew found paydirt once more. On third and long, Zak Anderson chucked one downfield, which was hauled in by Cohen Finley in double coverage. The 54-yard TD increased the Maroons’ advantage to 14.
From there, the Cardinals had a hard time getting anything to work and Pulaski Cou
