The state's oldest high school football rivalry game needed overtime to decide it and when the dust cleared, Carson was the victor.
Carson beat Douglas, 21-14 on Friday night at Douglas in the 87th meeting between the teams.
In overtime, the Senators got the ball first and scored on a 6-yard pass from Tyler Silsby to Zack Eaton. It was Eaton's second TD of the game.
On the Tigers' possession, Douglas senior Zack Jackson ran the ball up the middle and got to the goal line when Carson junior Cruz Gonzales got his helmet on the ball and knocked it out, giving the Senators the win.
Jackson rushed for 254 yards and two touchdowns.
In regulation, Nicholas Alvarado got an interception, his first of the season, for Carson with 1:43 left and the Senators took over on the Tigers 45-yard line, b
