GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Taking care of the kids who need it most. That’s the goal for Hospice of Michigan and its dedicated pediatric care program.

The organization is trying to ensure its renowned childhood hospice unit will continue to support children and their families for years to come.

That's why the non-profit is raising money for a new endowment fund, named for Jo Elyn Nyman, a longtime donor and supporter of the organization.

The program supports about 100 children a year, an effort that costs between $500,000 and $800,000 a year, according to Marcie Hillary, the chief experience officer for Hospice of Michigan.
