PERRIS — For two quarters, two stout defenses were on display in an Ivy League game between Liberty football and Orange Vista.
Orange Vista’s Bobby Greer (4-4, 2-0) rushed for a pair of second-half touchdowns, and Aziz threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Tristan Cooper, which broke Liberty’s shutout as the Coyotes rallied for a 22-21 win on Homecoming.
The Coyotes have won four in a row after starting 0-3.
“You could feel the momentum shift back to our favor with that touchdown pass and it really gave our sideline, as well as the crowd, a breath of fresh air,” Coyotes coach Shawn Fleming said. “There are no easy wins in the Ivy League and you’re going to have to face some adversity en route to winning this title. That’s what I hope we learned from some close losses in the non-league.”
