HILO (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Hawaii Island man has been charged with felony abuse and theft.

According to the County of Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Kekoa Denne-Kimi, 23, was arrested following domestic incidents that occurred on Sunday, Oct. 5, and Monday, Oct. 6, at a residence on Pikake Street in Mountain View.

Officials said he allegedly choked the victim before taking their credit card and a gold chain.

Officials said he also allegedly stole a credit card and a gold chain.

Denne-Kimi was charged on Thursday with felony abuse of a family or household member, misdemeanor abuse of a family or household member, unauthorized possession of confidential personal information, theft of credit card, and theft in the second degree.

His bail was maintained at $48,000.
