LETHBRIDGE – Nathan Brown and Nathan Free each scored two goals as the Portland Winterhawks crushed the Lethbridge Hurricanes 9-4 in Western Hockey League action on Friday.

Alex Weiermair, Carter Sotheran, Kayd Ruedig, Sam Spehar and Finn Spehar provided the rest of the offence for Portland (3-3-0), which scored four goals in each of the second and third periods.

Ondrej Stebeták made 21 saves in the win.

Logan Wormald, with two goals, Hudson Kibblewhite and Nathan Maloney replied for Lethbridge (2-6-0), which held a 2-1 lead after the first period.

Koen Cleaver stopped 28 of 37 shots.
