CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy overwhelmed Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 35-7 on Friday night, scoring three first-quarter touchdowns and controlling the game from start to finish with a dominant rushing attack.
The Royals struck quickly, finding the end zone on two of their first four plays from scrimmage. Zac Anderson opened the scoring with a 69-yard touchdown run on the third play of the game, and Joey Kopec followed with an 80-yard scoring sprint on the first play of CVCA’s second drive after Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin missed a 51-yard field goal.
Tommy Kopec capped the explosive first quarter with a 7-yard touchdown run after Dirk Geiger’s interception gave CVCA possession at the NDCL 21-yard line. The three scores put the Royals ahead 21-0 after one quarter.
