UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio — In a one-possession game, Olentangy Orange kept leaning on senior running back Lucas Fickel.

He bounced the ball outside, broke a tackle, and sent Upper Arlington packing with a 46-yard touchdown run, giving the Pioneers a 28-14 lead with only 2:35 left in the game.

It proved to be the final score.

“I received great blocking from my offensive line and tight end Jaden Workman,” Fickel said. “Breaking tackles and scoring touchdowns is what I naturally do.”

It was Lucas Fickel Show on Friday night. A hat trick was not enough for him, as he went for four touchdowns on the ground in a playoff rematch from last season’s Division I second round, a 24-20 win by Upper Arlington. Orange had won the Week 8 matchup, 28-20.
