AMHERST, Ohio — The Avon Eagles put together a dominant performance Friday night, shutting out Amherst 34-0 on the road to extend their winning streak and maintain control of the Southwestern Conference and their playoff destiny.
The victory marked Avon’s sixth consecutive win following a Week 2 loss to Spruce Creek, Florida. The Eagles (7-1 overall, 5-0 SWC) now control their own destiny for both a Division II, Region 6 playoff berth and the SWC championship.
The loss dropped Amherst to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play, snapping their two-game SWC winning streak.
