The Blue Jays have played with fire once this post-season and they didn’t get burned. Should they try again?

The Jays chose to roster only three starting pitchers in their division series against the New York Yankees, knowing that if it got to a fourth game, they’d have to start a reliever and use just about the whole bullpen. It worked, perfectly . But the American League championship series is a different animal.

While the ALDS was a best-of-five series, won by the Jays in four games , with scheduled days off after Games 2 and 4, the ALCS is a best-of-seven with the off-days coming after Games 2 and 5. That makes it a lot tougher to run a bullpen game.
