SEATTLE — Tell us if you’ve heard this one before: Rutgers got off to an early lead over a Big Ten team with an explosive offensive start, then stalled long enough to let its opponent turn the game around before desperately trying (and failing) to pull off a late comeback.

The same script that the Scarlet Knights saw against Iowa and Minnesota played out on Friday night at Husky Stadium. But in this 38-19 loss to the Huskies, Greg Schiano’s team did not make it until the fourth quarter to let the game slip.

Rutgers (3-3, 0-3) saw a thin 13-10 halftime lead turn into a 24-13 deficit within the first five minutes of the second half. A defense that came up big multiple times in the first half was ripped to shreds, giving up gains of 59, 38 and 19 yards in the span of seven plays.
