Texas Longhorns running back Quintrevion Wisner (26) celebrates a touchdown in the first half of the Red River Rivalry college football game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorn at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas, Saturday, Oct., 12, 2024.

One of college football's richest rivalries gets renewed in Week 7.

For the 97th consecutive season, No. 19 Texas and No. 6 Oklahoma will meet in the annual Red River Rivalry Game, where both schools will be playing for the Golden Hat.

The Longhorns and the Sooners are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Cotton Bowl Stadium on the grounds of the State Fair of Texas in Dallas.

The Longhorns are coming off another setback, and one that dropped them down to No. 19 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Led by Arch Manning, Texas enters Saturday's rivalry game looking for its first SEC win of the season after dropping its conference opener last week in Gainesville to unranked Florida.

One thing of note for Oklahoma — coming off a 49-0 win over Kent State last week — is whether John Mateer will play after the Sooners' starting quarterback has been working himself back from a hand injury that required surgery.

Oklahoma has taken four of the last six Red River Rivalry games, though Texas won last year, when Quinn Ewers led the Longhorns to a 34-3 win.
