STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Four vehicle thefts were reported across Staten Island during the week of Sept. 29 through Oct. 5, according to the NYPD.

Despite the recent incidents, grand larceny auto cases are down 36% boroughwide this year, with 176 reported so far in 2025 compared to 274 during the same period in 2024, according to the NYPD’s latest CompStat figures.

Here’s a look at the incidents reported during the most recent week:

On Oct. 1 at 6 p.m., a car was reported stolen near Jefferson Boulevard and Vespa Avenue in Huguenot.

On Oct. 4 at 4 p.m., a vehicle theft occurred at Mundy Avenue and Benedict Avenue in West Brighton.

On Oct. 5, two thefts were reported. At 7 p.m., a moped was stolen near Clove Road, Genesee Street and Dudley Avenue in Sunnyside. Later that same day, at 10
