FARGO — North Dakota State is tied for seventh in most quarterback sacks in Division I FCS and generally the Bison have put consistent pressure on opposing throwers. That task will get the ultimate test on Saturday when NDSU hosts Southern Illinois at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.

NDSU had to contend with Illinois State’s slippery quarterback Tommy Rittenhouse last week, a senior whose quickness and experience helped evade Bison defenders. NDSU found its defensive line groove in the second half in a 33-16 win.

“It’s always a challenge chasing them around,” said Bison defensive end Toby Anene. “Just getting 11 guys to the ball and trying to pursue, working on our angles, a lot of things.”
