NEW YORK – Are you ready, Freddy?

The team behind "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" stopped by New York Comic Con to preview the highly anticipated horror sequel and surprise the crowd by dropping some juicy casting news.

Megan Fox is set to voice the animatronic character Toy Chica in the film, Blumhouse announced during the horror production company's panel on Friday, Oct. 10.

"Her kids happen to be huge 'Five Nights at Freddy's' fans, so she has heard about this world for a long time from her kids," director Emma Tammi said. "She was really pumped to do the voice of Toy Chica, and she did the most amazing job. She wanted to pay homage to the games, but also make it her own."

Fox's involvement was announced as a photo of the actress was displayed on screen at the panel, and the crowd reacted with gasps over the surprise casting choice. Kellen Goff and Matthew "MatPat" Patrick were also revealed as the voices of Toy Freddy and Toy Bonnie, respectively, in the movie.

"I've gone from being a theorist about 'FNAF' to being stuffed inside of an animatronic suit," Patrick, who is known for discussing the "Five Nights at Freddy's" video games on YouTube, said in a pre-recorded video message played during the panel. "I think that's probably the greatest honor any 'FNAF' theorist could hope for."

"Five Nights at Freddy's 2" follows up the blockbuster 2023 movie, which centered on killer animatronics come to life and is based on the hugely popular series of video games. Returning cast members include Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail and Matthew Lillard.

One year after the events of the original film, "former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends," the studio's logline reads.

"But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades."

The New York Comic Con crowd went wild for Lillard as he made a surprise appearance at the panel and rolled onto the stage. "I just blew out my knee," he quipped after the dramatic move. The "Scream" actor promised fans that Tammi did a "great job of listening to what you want" in a sequel to "Five Nights at Freddy's."

"You guys like the lore, right?" he asked the audience. "Would you like more jump scares? Would you like it to be scarier in general? We did that!"

Other highlights from Blumhouse's New York Comic Con panel included a video message from Lin Shaye taken on the set of "Insidious 6," which is currently filming in Australia. The sequel is set for an August 2026 release and will see Shaye, 81, once again return as Elise Rainier.

"You want to go into the Further?" she asked in a video from the set, referring to the creepy otherworldly realm from the horror series. "You're going to go into the Further."
