MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. (WFSB) - Emergency crews responded to a rescue in Middlefield on Friday night.

At around 11:30 p.m. firefighters were called to Black Pond after a report of a car submerged in water, the volunteer fire company said.

When crews arrived and searched the vehicle, they confirmed there was no one inside.

This incident remains under investigation.

No further details were released.
