For generations of Minnesotans, Minneapolis and St. Paul were destination places in the North Star State.

With its skyscrapers and cosmopolitan vibe, “The City of Lakes” made Minneapolis the perfect mix of uptown chic and urban respite.

St. Paul, with its curvy streets and small liberal arts colleges, was the feisty smaller neighboring city steeped in history and nostalgia.

Together, the Twin Cities was the place to catch a professional sporting event, visit a world-class museum or theater, and grab a bite in a memorable restaurant. Young adults from the region flocked to the metro area to be part of the place that had it all going on.

Unfortunately, those points of pride for many Minnesotans are now places of critical concern.
