This weekend will feel like autumn, with clouds and showers and cool temperatures. Snow will fall in the Cascades above 5,000 feet, with accumulations of 6 to 12 inches possible by Monday night. Some wet snow will fall at pass levels and melt off. We can’t rule out a thunderstorm between now and when the trough of low-pressure slides to our east late Monday.

Our average high temperature now is 66 degrees. Wednesday’s and Thursday’s highs were only in the low 60s. With colder air arriving over the weekend, forecast charts show highs only in the 50s Sunday and Monday. Vancouver is slightly above normal with the average mean temperature so far this month.

As of noon Friday, Vancouver had measured .17 of an inch of rain this month. That is three-quarters of an inch below normal.
