A major new Plymouth exhibition will "challenge the boundaries of painting". More than 40 artists are contributing to The Errant Collaborators (a play within a play).
The exhibition at MIRROR at Arts University Plymouth is being led by painter and curator Dan Howard-Birt , and will run from October 24 to December 17.
Rather than presenting works in isolation, paintings are hung on top of one another, inserted into cut-outs, or pressed against their neighbours.
The aim is to explore the "tensions of painting, authorship, display and control", with works that "form uncomfortable relationships that challenge the roles of artist, curator and the paintings themselves".
