MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Crews responded to a car in the water on Friday night in Middlefield, according to the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company.

Fire officials responded to Black Pond at approximately 11:30 p.m. for a reported car in the water.

Officials said the car was unoccupied after a search.

The cause of the incident was not released.
