WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Serious injuries were reported after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Friday night in Waterbury, police said.

The crash took place around 10 p.m. in the 2600 block of South Main Street.

The 49-year-old pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
