Mat Williamson continued his domination of Super DIRT Week 53 Friday night, when he won the Salute to the Troops 150 main event for DIRTcar 358 modifieds for the third straight year.
The victory for this St. Catharines, Ontario racer tied him with Billy Decker and Pete Bicknell as the only drivers to win three straight DIRTcar 358 main events. After running into some issues qualifying Wednesday, Williamson started 22nd in the 43-car starting field.
After polesitter Matt Sheppard and Alex Payne led the first 69 laps, Williamson quickly raced through the field and took the lead on the 70th circuit. From there it was clear sailing until it was time to roll into victory lane to collect his $20,000 first place check. It was the victor’s 30th feature win of 2025 and it runs his career main eve
