TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - In celebration of National Veterinary Technician Week (October 12 - 18), Kent State University announced it will be partnering with local animal shelters to promote dog adoptions. The partnership also coincides with National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.

Veterinary technology students at the university's Trumbull and Tuscarawas campuses plan to highlight adoptable dogs from the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County and the Humane Society of Tuscarawas County through social media.

Melissa Best, the director of the Veterinary Technology Program at Kent State Trumbull says her students are thrilled to promote dogs awaiting their forever-homes.

"Some of them have been here for over a year, and they deserve a loving home," Best said.
