CLEARWATER COUNTY, Idaho — A Kootenai County Sheriff's Office deputy died this week in a UTV accident near the South Fork of Robinson Creek.

The Clearwater County Sheriff's Office got a call in the middle of the night Friday reporting that 43-year-old Dale Law didn't return home when expected.

Deputies and Search and Rescue began looking for him near Elk River. The search covered a large area from Elk River to Dworshak reservoir. Searchers used pickups, UTVs, a drone and the Backcountry Medics helicopter.

Searchers also talked to several hunters camping in the area, a few of whom volunteered to help search.

Some of those hunters found Law's missing UTV around noon on Friday, Oct. 10 near the South Fork of Robinson Creek.
