During World War II, Norway was occupied by the Nazis. Norwegians, at great personal risk, showed their resistance to the fascism of the Nazis and the antisemitism by wearing a paper clip. That simple item which binds paper together was used as a symbol to bind the Norwegian people together when under the burden of war.

While there were other such paper clip protests the small nation of Norway stands out. There is no hope that our president would move away from the rhetoric of his campaign and personal history to begin to bind the nation together and heal the divisions that have divided us for too long. He has made things worse.
