A 39-year-old man was shot and killed early Saturday morning following an altercation at a birthday party, according to Rochester police.

Officers responded around 3:30 a.m. to the 100 block of Bock Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the man lying near the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the shooting followed a dispute that broke out during a birthday party at a nearby residence. The victim, who was not immediately identified, was among those attending the party, police said.
