SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas (KETK) - The City of San Augustine Police Department is currently searching for a suspect who allegedly shot at two police officers on Friday.

According to the department, their officers and deputies from the San Augustine County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired in the late hours of Friday at the Sunset Hills Apartment Complex on Holly Courts Drive in San Augustine.

While patrolling on foot in the area, a shot was fired by an unknown person in the area of two police officers. San Augustine PD said one officer reported hearing the "cracking" sound that a bullet makes when fired in a person's direction.
