NEW ORLEANS — A for Orleans Parish Clerk of Criminal Court says reports from across New Orleans allege that incumbent Clerk Darren Lombard is violating Louisiana’s electioneering law by instructing poll workers to display his name and photo on their official identification badges and to wear lanyards bearing his name.
On Saturday, voters arriving at one polling location reportedly saw poll workers wearing lanyards with Lombard’s name and photo on the back of their official ID badges.
WWL’s Lily Cummings visited one of the polling places in question and saw several workers wearing the badges pictured in a report from Calvin Duncan’s campaign office. The badges feature the workers’ photos on one side, and poll workers told Cummings those were their regular work badges.
According to Duncan
